Reviews of Our Podcast
and one all-encompassing, big friggin’ resounding THANK YOU to everyone who has taken time out of their day (that they could be spending playing the greatest of games) to leave some kind words. We put them here, more for us, because we read them whenever we need a boost. We love you back.
Regarding our contribution to MCDM’s Arcadia:
I'm only halfway through the descriptions of each of the 3 Writers in the Scribes... and I can already tell. This is just a ruse to pull the strings on us DMs... by getting us to consider Plot, Action, and Drama as the Scribes would do it -- it forces us to include plot, action, and drama in our games. It's a meta organization, and the true Librarian is Hook & Chance and The GM Tim.

I love the podcast and have listened to every episode related to being a dm. I’m working my way through the rest. Well, I just wrapped up my first long-running campaign and I would like to send out a huge thank you to everyone on this [Discord]. You, along with the podcast, helped me be able to make it one of the best campaigns my players have been a part of. (Their words!)

”Honestly I just finished the 4th episode and it has not only helped me expand my idea of how to make a dnd game but how to write a story in general and deal with things in my everyday life. (I may be exaggerating but I try to use lessens I learn on all fronts) This is the podcast I’ve been waiting for as a pretty much brand new player and a soon to be first time DM. Thanks you two for your work. I’m excited for you both. 🤓⚔️🐉🤣🧝🏼♂️📚✏️🎲 “

Greetings from Minnesota!
I was introduced to HaC (psst this acronym is a lot easier to type and you should use it too) through a post on some dnd sub and decided to give it a listen.
I started with Episode 3 because I am a gigantic fan of u/famoushippopotamus, and I was initially surprised that your first guest would be such a prolific part of the community.
First off, I'm an audiophile and tend to be obnoxiously picky with my podcasts, if a pod has interference or plosives or sub-par editing, I generally back away.
This. Pod. Is. Professional. Grade.
The content, the presentation, the succinctness, it's all just so good.
Somehow you know exactly what I (and I think a large portion of the community) wanted/needed in an informative D&D podcast. It's so approachable and I think it fits perfectly in a content gap we didn't know existed.
How can I best support this production in terms of views and popularity? Where all can I leave reviews and try to boost y'all up the algorithm?
I appreciate the effort and impatiently look forward for more.

Hey, I listened to episode 7 last week and really wanted to say in my opinion best episode yet! The topic was helpful and new, pacing was perfect and the delivery was entertaining. Found myself grinning ear to ear with your example adventure at the end. Brought me back to the real reason I play D&D. An occasional great tale, a chance at improv and continued fun among friends. Looking forward to more.

Your podcast is the best one out there. I started listening when the third episode came out and it has been something I look forward to every week for my commute. I appreciate how you try to give ideas that fit into formulas and step-by-step approaches; it makes things a hell of a lot more accessible.

This podcast is glorious! I laugh while learning about D&D, and the vibe of the channel is great! I love the interactions between the two of you, it's so natural.

“This was a totally random find, and a really good DMing interview, for those DMs out there that struggle to find good world-building methods. Getting players into your world can be the hardest part of the job as a DM. Turning them from murderhobos into actual contributing members of the world can be difficult. Hook & Chance recently interviewed FamousHippopotamus on their podcast, and really got into some good techniques for worldbuilding that he likes to use when creating his D&D games. His 20 Questions method of character creation really generates content from player to DM in helping the DM build the world, and simultaneously generates buy-in from the players, as they now have invested in-character into the world. Anyway, it's a fantastic interview, and a great podcast overall. I'm not normally much of a podcast guy, but this one caught my attention.”

I've found something in every episode of this podcast that I want to use in my campaign. Since listening, I've already added a few things to future plans. The episodes are pretty on point and offer so many small details to make a game more lively and interesting.

You guys are killing it. Please do not stop! It’s super enjoyable, I like that it’s cordial, and I love that it’s people… you two are brothers. There is a chemistry there that isn’t on every podcast. Please do not stop."
